Founded in 1997 by partners Matthew Rego, Michael Rego, and Hank Unger, The Araca Group has grown from a start-up working out of a one room office into an internationally renowned merchandise and production company.
The Araca Group solidified its reputation as a leading theatrical production company with the critical acclaimed success of Urinetown: The Musical followed by Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune which starred Edie Falco and Stanley Tucci and the blockbuster musical Wicked on Broadway and throughout the world. Other recent Broadway productions include The Wedding Singer, ‘night, Mother, The Good Body, and Match. Recent Off-Broadway credits include The Vagina Monologues, The Laramie Project, and Debbie Does Dallas.
In the past few years, The Araca Group has seen tremendous growth in its merchandise division. The mission of The Araca Group’s merchandise division is
to develop, design and produce singular, fashionable and quality products that support the client’s marketing strategy throughout the world.
Araca has “pushed the envelope,” by creating not just collectibles but true fashion statements, designer jewelry, and high-end items that can be sold both inside and outside of entertainment venues. Araca’s current merchandise roster includes Wicked, Boeing Boeing, and Passing Strange on Broadway; Dickens Unplugged in London; Jersey Boys in Las Vegas and London; as well as Wicked in Chicago, Los Angles, London, Tokyo, Stuttgart and Melbourne.

Principals/Founders
Matthew Rego is a graduate of the University of Michigan’s Musical Theatre Program, and earned his MBA in Marketing and Finance from Fordham University.
Michael Rego received a BFA in Musical Theatre/Directing from Syracuse University and a JD from New York Law School.
Hank Unger is a native of Cleveland, Ohio and received a BFA in theatre from Syracuse University.
